How to Measure Podcast Success

When I go through the launch process with my clients, I always ask what their goals are for the podcast. Now, it can be analytical but it doesn't have to be.

Here are some ways you can measure your podcast success:

Specific Number of Downloads

Did you know, that if your episode got over 145 downloads, it's doing better than 50% of the shows out there? This is super valuable to know so that you're not chasing 1000s of downloads every week and wondering why you're not hitting the mark.

Make It Past 10 Episodes

There's no denying that a podcast is such a large time commitment - especially if you're not outsourcing any of the production. Making it past 10 episodes can be an amazing achievement and could be one to add to your list of goals.

Building Community

Now, this is one of my faves and what I think podcasting for your business is all about.

Building a community of like-minded individuals is SO powerful. They will be the ones who not only support your podcast but help you shape it. Take the time to ask your community who they are and what they want to see out of your podcast.

Make a Positive Impact

Does anyone ever message you and tell you they loved your episode? Or the episode gave them so many useful tips that they can't wait to implement? This is a positive impact.

Telling stories that are bold and may be helpful to someone else going through those same experiences, makes people feel not so alone.

Remember, your podcast isn't about you - it's about your listener.

Provide Value

How will you provide value to your listeners? To teach them something? To make them laugh? Or help them through something difficult?

Once you know this, you can reverse engineer your podcast on how to deliver it.

New Aligned Clients

Not only do aligned clients feel good for the pocket, but they also feel good for the soul. Your podcast is a really great opportunity to build know, like and trust and gives you the ability to attract your dream clients.
