How To Utilise Instagram For Your Podcast

Instagram can be totally overwhelming with its constant changes and a new update every week.

So all I can do is say, this blog is written in January 2023, and if you're reading this at a later date and it sounds totally outdated - it is what it is. ANYWAYS! Here are are my five top ways to utilise Instagram for your podcast episodes.

Reel

If you have video footage of your episodes, you can cut some sections with really good content and put it in a reel. Showing your face and the way you talk gives you the opportunity to connect with your audience and will entice them to listen to the episode.

Some people use their audiogram in a reel as well, as reels get much more views! Keep scrolling for more info on audiograms.

Go Live

Going Live on Instagram is enough to make my hands sweat. BUT it's a fantastic tool to promote your episode if you want to answer any questions OR to collect questions for upcoming episodes. This is a really great way to build community and let them know you're there and listening to them.

Story Post

Stories are a great way to let everyone know what you're doing in the day to day, and showing up for your business is superrrrr important. But some people really don't like showing their face and I get it. So, if you do, jump on and talk about the episode that has just be released, your favourite parts, about your guest and your key outtakes of the chat. And if you don't like to show your face - create some templates that you can input all of that information into bite size pieces for people to quickly read about the episode.

And don't forget to share the link to your podcast in the story post!

Audiogram

Audiograms are those little tiles, reels or story posts that have the audio wave on them with someone speaking. These are my FAVE way to promote a podcast. This is another way for people who don't like showing their face or the video content of their podcast on Instagram. You can take a 30-60 second clip and put it into apps like Headliner or Wavve with an image you have for the episode. This will give your audience a quick idea on what the episode is all about, what they'll learn or who the guest is.

Quote Tiles

When you're editing your podcast, go through and take notes of really juicy quotes that will make your audience want to listen to the episode. If you have a guest on, I suggest taking their words so it's a shareable item and makes sense for their audience also.
